Mercury the Cat needs a home
Hello everyone, my name is Mercury! I'm a male orange tabby and I'm about 1 year old and ready for a steady and loving home. I was pretty startled when I first got here and was a little wary of all the new faces. That said, it's amazing what regular meals and having a safe place to sleep can do for a kitty's confidence. My early months haven't exactly been fuzzy, warm memories for me, but I'm hoping with all my might that I'm headed to a better future! I used to be just a little worried when volunteers and visitors reached out to me with their hands, but with a little time and some trust on my part, I've learned how nice it can be to have someone there to stroke your head and scratch your neck. I promise if you'll give me a moment to scent your hand and learn your face, I will purr and purr in appreciation for every bit of affection you'll give me! I really would like to go home where there will be another cat companion for me. I feel like this would be a good point to tell you about my hobbies and interests. Mostly I'm a good snoozer. Like champion-level sleeping and occasional snoring. When I'm awake though, I like to sit and watch all the goings on in my area and I'm even trying out all the different toys they have here for us cats. Right now, I'm focusing on battling ping pong balls, but I hear there are wand toys and even mice toys for cats! Maybe you and I could test those out together some day?
